Wouldn’t that be kind of fragile?
How can you make sure that you can deploy something like this on a big scale? The UK agricultural industry produces 3 million tons of straw per year. Up until legislation prevented it, most of this got burned in the field. So there are 3 million tons of unused straw. One bale house uses about 5 tons of straw. So we could meet the entire UK new housing demand 5 times over. And that’s a similar number for most of the European countries where straw is grown. Then the system of framing that we’ve created works with what is called solid timber engineering. It is designed to be manufactured at speed and at volume. How can you guarantee that you are producing sustainable materials? Wherever possible, we’re using renewable materials, and we are using low-carbon lime render. We are also working with the European timber industry to ensure that the timber we are sourcing is from legal and sustainable forestry. How do the costs for one of your houses compare to houses built from concrete or timber
