How Do You Clean A Mouth Guard?
Brush the mouth guard with water and possibly a gentle toothpaste. Talk to the dentist first to make sure the type of toothpaste and brushing technique you are using won’t harm your night guard. • Create a solution a mix of white vinegar and water and just a touch of bleach. Soak the mouthguard for an hour. • The vinegar dissolves calcium buildup and the bleach and the vinegar both kill bacteria. Rinse before using. • Drop denture or retainer a cleaning tablet in water. • Place the mouth guard in the solution for a few minutes. Do not leave the tablet in the water all day or overnight as strong cleaning solutions could harm it. Rinse well.
