CAN PRIEST HOLMES STILL DELIVER?
Judging from his preseason performance and the sense of optimism at Arrowhead Stadium, we know the Chiefs think he can. Holmes, who led the NFL with 2,287 total yards last season and was a virtual one-man-wrecking ball with 24 touchdowns, had hip surgery in the offseason and did not return to the playing field until late in the summer. He pronounced himself healthy and the Chiefs do not appear to be hiding him from contact. Still, considering Holmes’ injury was not unlike the one that ended Bo Jackson’s career, the jury still is out. The answer: Holmes goes for more than 1,400 yards but does not come close to 24 TDS. 9.
