What Are Metal Pan Ceilings?
Metal pan ceilings are a type of metal ceiling that uses tiles or “pans” that are installed in a standard or concealed grid system. They are called metal pans as each tile or panel is bent up 25mm at the sides in order to create a pan. There are two standard sizes for the tile or pan – 600mm by 600mm or 1200mm by 600mm. Metal pan ceilings are the most common type of metal ceilings, and they can be decorative or serve a specific function (such as hiding insulation or cooling ducts). The pans are either laid or snapped into the ceiling grid system. The most common grid system used is the standard T-bar suspension. You can choose to have the grid itself showing or to have it fully concealed.
