If you have confirmed osteo, then there isn’t a cure, there is only management of the symptoms. This can include many different things such as: -weight loss to reduce the stress on your knee joints -exercise to strengthen supporting muscles -activity modifications -pain killers like Tylenol or Advil to start. Stronger prescription ones as things deteriorate -Injections of artificial cartilage (eg Synvisc) -steroid injections (not usually very helpful actually) -You’ll hear about glucosamine and chondroitin, but the evidence they do much of anything is pretty weak. -knee replacement surgery is the last resort when the disease has progressed to the point that none of the above helps with the pain and disability anymore.
