Do hygiene precautions make a difference?

0

An important part of our strategy for the prevention of all health care associated infection is so-called universal precautions, that is strict hygiene, handwashing, and environmental cleanliness etc. This applies to everyone, staff and visitors. Many wards now use alcohol gel for hands on entering the ward. All patients and families should feel free to remind staff to wash their hands before touching patients. Staff will not be offended or upset.
