What is Colorado Railroads?
Colorado Railroads is a blog about the railroads of Colorado started by Steve Walden back in 2006 as a way of keeping his nose into the world of trains. At the time, it was a “trifle” because he didn’t even know if six generations of Colorado natives would be ending with him and his children moving east–of all directions!–to Iowa for a job and a shot at launching his dream career of writing. Thankfully, that was not to be, and his body had other plans entirely, falling further into the realm of chronic illness than employers typically permit. The last thing he needed was to be separated from the mountains, the railroads, and the family he loved all too deeply. Further details on Steve will be forthcoming. Since then, Colorado Railroads has grown into a full hobby that demands his attention as often as it can be afforded. Readership has steadily grown, and, God willing, he plans to keep writing about Colorado and her railroads as long as he lives.
