A. Traditional neighborhood development (TND) is a community design movement that seeks to return to earlier characteristics of town planning. It embraces the small-town concept of working, living, and playing without having to leave the neighborhood. In more than 300 communities nationwide, well-executed TNDs are recognized as providing solutions to the blight of sprawl by embracing Smart Growth principles.
