The TomoTherapy Hi×Art System is a cancer treatment device that can locate the treatment site prior to the precise delivery of the radiation beam using the TomoImage™ feature. It is the only product in the market today with an on-board CT capable of visualizing the treatment site in a three dimensional (3D) mode. The TomoTherapy Hi×Art System delivers a sophisticated form of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) using a fine resolution multileaf collimator. One of the most important recent advances in radiation treatment, IMRT involves changing the size and shape and intensity of the radiation beam to conform to a patient’s tumor, while sparing healthy tissue.
