How are PAAC members nominated?
Committee members are nominated by the Supervisor from the Fifth Supervisory District (currently Supervisor Bill Horn) and appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Committee member terms run concurrently with the term of the Supervisor who nominated them to the committee or at such time as he or she ceases to hold office, whichever occurs first. Supervisor Horn’s current term runs through 2010. * At least one (1) member from each of the following cities: Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos and Oceanside, Six (6) members from the general public who reside within Supervisory District 5, One (1) member who is a member of the Noise Control Hearing Board. When a member ceases to hold office prior to the expiration of his/her appointment the vacancy is filled in the same manner as initial appointments.
