What is procurement services?
Through procurement services, UNICEF acts as a procurement agent for governmental and non-governmental partners, purchasing and delivering supplies and equipment on their behalf. The principal advantage of UNICEF procurement services is to offer a full supply package, (i.e., assistance with product specification, procurement, use and end-user monitoring), including country-level operational support, in product areas where UNICEF has recognized experience. UNICEF does not make any profit but is required to recover its costs from providing procurement services through a handling fee. Procurement services agreements are governed by Memoranda of Understanding (MoU). Generally, entities that are non-profit making are eligible for UNICEF procurement services.
