WHO IS THE SICK PUPPY??
Although this book is listed as a Mystery, the story didn’t really have any mysteries to be solved. The real mystery is never solved; just who is the sick puppy? At first glance, it seems obvious. The sick puppy is Twilly Spree, a very personal eco-terrorist with an anger management problem. He stalks litterers, and dumps truckloads of trash on their expensive convertibles. He breaks into their homes and plucks the glass eyes from their mounted trophy heads. He kidnaps their dogs. He has even killed a man who illegally dumps barrel after barrel of toxic waste into a river. Or is the sick puppy Palmer Stoat, one of Twillys victims? Stoat is a high powered Florida lobbyist; his hobbies include systematic littering, and ‘canned ‘ big game hunts. He shoots old, tame, lame and sometimes drugged animals at a ‘game reserve’ in Florida. He mounts their heads in his den and lies about shooting them on the African veldt.
