Mom decided to depart from tradition and make something other than yellow cake with chocolate frosting (much to my initial dismay). She made this flourless chocolate almond cake with a chocolate glaze, accompanied by a homemade rum flavored whipped cream. Very dense, and filling, and, dare I say it, Awesome!
