What is a Uniform Sign Design (USD)?
A USD is a written and graphical document which sets forth criteria for all signs on a specific site. The provisions of the City Code are general, while the USD specifies the signage allowed by the Code as it applies to a particular building or project. It does not offer more flexibility than is allowed in the City Code and may even be more restrictive. Most multi-tenant and commercially leased buildings require a USD. In addition, some Uses also require a USD including gas stations.
