What is gouache paint?
Gouache is very similar to watercolour, the difference being that in gouache the pigment is not so finely ground and white (often chalk) is added to make the paint opaque, as with watercolour the binder is gum- arabic. Gouache is good for painting flat areas of dense colour and is often used by designers and illustrators, the pigment quality can often be of a lower grade than “artist’s quality” watercolours.
