What Is a Pneumatic Tire Forklift?
In simple terms, a pneumatic tire forklift is a type of forklift (commonly used for outdoor work) that makes use of pneumatic (pressurized gas based) tires. Now that we’ve got that cleared up, lets take a closer look at what it actually means. There are three different types of tires which are commonly used on forklifts: Pneumatic – large air filled tires, made from a durable, thick rubber with deep tracks for extra grip on loose or muddy surfaces. Solid – like their names suggests these tires a made from a solid piece of rubber, which means they can’t be punctured. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor environments, though ideally not on overly rough terrain as they don’t offer the forklift any protection. Polyurethane – these tires are welded onto the wheel, they offer great traction on smooth indoor surfaces, but cannot be used outside without seriously damaging the vehicle.
