WHO IS PCC?
Pelham Community Charities is an official committee set up by Pelham Community Church, an affiliate of the United Church of Canada, the largest protestant denomination in Canada, (similar to the United Methodist Church in the USA). Our particular congregation was originally part of the Evangelical United Brethren Church established by early settlers that emigrated from Pennsylvania at the time of the American War of Independence. The congregation has a long history of supporting mission projects. Historically, any monies surplus at year-end were given to missions and the congregation entered the New Year with no financial reserves. More recently, we have supported various projects both financially and with our talents. Two years ago, we sent a team to Guatemala to assist in drilling wells in remote villages so as to provide potable water supplies to those living there. PCC was set up in an effort to pursue worthy projects that would not involve any direct religious connection. As part
