What causes neck pain and head aches?
Pain in the head and neck are very common complaints. This can range from a mild stiffness in the neck to severe pain with even the simplest of daily activities. The structure of the neck vertebrae are different than in the low back but all of the basic structures can still cause pain. The neck is more susceptible to strains because it is very mobile which is why ongoing problems after whiplash injuries are common. Neck problems can cause pain and weakness in the shoulder, arm and upper back. These can mimic symptoms of ulnar nerve compression and medial nerve conditions such as carpal tunnel. Our therapists perform a careful evaluation to determine the primary cause of your neck pain and headaches. We also work with your physicians in the treatment of your pain.
