So, what are Active Server Pages?
• Active Server Pages (ASP), is an open, compile-free application environment in which you can combine HTML pages, scripts, and ActiveX server components to create powerful Web-based solutions. ASP supports all scripting languages. This includes JavaScript, VBScript, PerlScript, and any other scripting language that can be supported by the IIS server. ASP files are parsed by the webserver anytime the page is loaded. Since the ASP is being processed by the server browsers do not have to support the scripting language used, only the server must be capable of supporting the scripting language. Another benefit of ASP is that you can combine multiple scripting languages together on the same page.
