Is tonsillitis infectious?

0

Yes, tonsilitis is definetely infectious. It is usually caused by a virus, less frequently by bacteria, and rarely by fungal or parasite. It is infectious from a few days before the symptoms appear, and for about two weeks after, in most cases it’s self limiting. It is spread by close contact, sneezing etc. through droplet infection.
