The Java CoG Kit JGlobus library contains a personal gatekeeper and personal GASS server that are written in 100% Java. The Personal Gatekeeper is not production quality, but we have gotten good feedback from the climatology community that used this service even on their supercomputers to develop Grid applications. There is information about this in the old Java CoG Kit manual, as well as on a page described by a community member at Personal Grid.
