How accurate are the meters?
Smart meters are electronic devices comprised of many components. Therefore, a component defect that adversely impacts an individual meter’s accuracy is possible. This type of product failure usually occurs during the very early or very late stages of the meter’s service life. To ensure the meters are as accurate as possible, they are subjected to strict design standards when they are manufactured, and Dominion tests meters on a random basis both before and after putting them into service to confirm they operate satisfactorily.
