What is ALP?
ALP stands for Advanced Learning Program. This program is sponsored by Cobb County. Students progress on standardized testing and teacher input during 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. The students who qualify are pulled at Murdock one day a week for extension activities to address learning styles. ALP students are not required to complete classwork and homework assignments given in their regular class on ALP days; however, the students are expected to review the content to ensure they can complete the assignments for future assessments. Experience has taught me the extra practice of completing these assignments are helpful in participation with the class for future assignments as well as the confirmation for the teacher that all skills are mastered by each student.
