How is writing for Social Studies different from writing for English?
Writing for Social Studies is a more factual and formal writing style that emphasizes analysis. It is based around answering essay prompts with thesis statements, and the facts that support the thesis statement. It is focused around the statement of facts that support the stance taken. It is not a very descriptive type of writing. Generally, students write a four to six paragraph essay in third person and the active voice.
