Independent medical advice has confirmed that anthrax immunisation is safe. All medicines, including vaccines, have the potential to cause side effects in some people. The UK anthrax vaccine is licensed and has been used for many years and administered to many thousands of people both in the military and civilian occupations such as laboratory workers, veterinary surgeons and abattoir workers. There is no clinical evidence to suggest that any have suffered any long-term ill effects as a result.
