Well there was that fireball seen over Alberta and Saskatchewan on November 20 this year. Various fireball cameras and even a camera on the dashboard of a car recorded the flash in the sky. Meteorites from the event have been recovered but none of these pieces would have been filmed actually striking the ground. http://www.skyriver.ca/astro/bruce/meteo… There are plenty of fireball cameras that record many meteor trails caused by various lumps of space dust burning up in Earth’s atmosphere. On October 7, 2008 asteroid 2008 TC3 entered the Earth’s atmosphere over northern Sudan. The object had been located 24 hours before and was tracked by many amateur and professional observatories as it sped towards its encounter with the Earth.
