How does floppy disk works ?
A floppy disk is actually rather simple. It is made up of several parts: the disk (which is actually the dark-colored circle on the inside), the plastic around the disk (which is only meant to protect the floppy disk), and the metal door (another protection device). When you insert the disk into a floppy drive, a mechanical arm inside the drive slides the metal door out of the way. This makes way for another arm that has a little read head on it. It touches the dark disk, and reads the data. Now, the data is stored as magnetic charges that basically equate to 1 (positive) and 0 (negative). The read head detects these charges and reads them into the computer. Software is all made up of 1’s and 0’s. That is essentially all there is to know. Hope this helps!
