What is this stuff about 30% & 50%?
We needed to get at least 30% of the employees in each bargaining unit on both petitions. We were hoping that by getting 50% plus one, we would avoid an election. But the regulations allow SEIU1021 to show their membership lists to force an election. As of the middle of February, so many members are switching to be “fair-share/fee-payers”, that no one knows what SEIU’s membership lists look like.
