SuperHeroHype is reporting that director Guy Ritchie is hoping to get Daniel Day-Lewis to play Sherlock Holmes’ arch-villain Professor Moriarty in Warner Bros.’ Sherlock Holmes 2, which will start shooting soon for a December 16, 2011 release date. The site adds that if that doesn’t work out, other names that have been bandied about as being in consideration include Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Gary Oldman. You can read more on this rumor here.
