Should I Shoot in the Adobe RGB or sRGB Color Space?

This may be a silly question, but it would be great to get some input into this! I recently read that I should shoot in Adobe RGB but when I did, I found the images to be grainy and the colors to look over saturated, I wasnt very pleased because they were shots that I could not redo! I put them in Adobe LIghtroom as raw files but could not help the color at all! Any tips how I can correct these photos or what to shoot in would be greatly appreciated!
