MHN’s Assistance Program is designed to promote early identification of personal problems and elevate employee/member awareness of the resources available to deal with and solve personal problems. The AP is structured to demonstrate to employee/members that they are valued while providing a means for reducing health insurance costs, reducing absenteeism and tardiness, increasing productivity and efficiency, and lowering accident rates, turnover, and training costs. How the Assistance Program (AP) Works When the AP is implemented, supervisors, stewards, business agents and other key referral sources are asked to attend training sessions on how to identify a troubled employee/member and how to make an effective referral. In addition, to promote the use of the AP, we provide ongoing employee/member communications.
