What should I bring to boarding school?
Mufti (smart casual clothing for trips) Your subfusc (if it’s that sort of old school) Everyday clothing (shirts, pants, suits etc) A warm waterproof coat and gloves (lots of standing around at matches, before chapel etc) At least one black tie outfit for year end/christmas/leaving balls Good books (if you end up supervising detention) Sports kit & swimwear inc gym towel Tough boots and warm sock (field trips/class trips etc) Whiteboard/overhead pens (yes they provide them but they always run out) A really good diary – there will be lots of events you’ll have to be aware of because some will affect your classes A good note book – you’ll have a lot of names to learn very quickly (including the parents of the kids) If you are living in house: lots of pants (laundry is only once a week – bring a net bag to put your small’s in so they don’t get lost) Cash’s (name labels so you can identify your clothing – I guarantee someone else will have the same coat/gloves etc) Homely stuff – a favorit
