Do you use norton systemworks?

I used it in my early days of computing. I’ve found that it (along with all Norton software) actually creates more problems than it solves. It’s bloated, instrusive software that “takes over” the PC. When software like that becomes problematic it causes instability in the whole operating system – that’s not good. (If you ever browse through their support section you’ll notice that they basically want people to uninstall and reinstall their software to increasing degrees when they have problems.) After dealing with it for awhile I reinstalled Windows and didn’t install any of that software – my PC has been more problem free ever since. (I joke that the only thing good about that software is that a person inevitably learns more about their PC by fixing it) CCleaner cleans up much of the things SystemWorks does – and the things it doesn’t really aren’t all that critical. (I’m talking about the basic cleaning function there – not malware.) The Windows registry just gets messed up over time
