Does a 2 party system actually work?

No, and George Washington warned of this more then 200 years ago. There are two problems. The first being the 2 party system. Where we get a stalemate of power. The other issue which is lost on this generation is that the Federal Government was not intended to be stronger then the States. When the States the left the Union were forced back in, after the War Between the States, the Federal Government overstepped its’ Authority. Since then each branch of the Federal Government has taken away the powers of the states. Sad thing is we as voters fail to realize this, and send people to Washington DC to represent our state, that have bigger ties to the so called National Parties. Start small introduce third parties at the local level, and force change from within.
