Who was leading the movement?
There was no hierarchy. The main actors were the people. Ordinary people, radio stations and the media have made such large-scale protests possible. A few months back the King tried to curb the media but it is challenged in the court. In Kathmandu intellectuals and the media were leading the protest in rural areas the local people were leading it. There is no need to communicate on day-to-day basis as long as all of us are clear about who is the enemy — who is against democracy in Nepal. There is no doubt about the irrelevance of KingGyanendra to our future. There is also no disagreement among people that you cannot bring peace by alienating the Maoists. Salaam Nepal!
