How do vampires reproduce?
Throughout the vast majority of human mythology, a creature can EITHER procreate or be immortal, but not both. If both could be, the world would soon be over-run by them, whatever they were. Since the world is not over-run with them, for most people, this ‘proves’ the idea. (circular and circumstantial, I know) However, most vampire stories include the idea that if a human dies by being totally drained of blood and vitality by a vampire, then three days after being buried, that person will ‘rise’ as a new vampire. In some stories the vampire who ‘made’ the new one considers her/him as his/her own ‘child’, in others as his/her slave, in others as her/his mate. The reason you are confused is that every author seems to have to choose a different way for it to be, or invent a totally new way.
