How is CFU activation identified?
Once a minimum of four Operational Members are in uniform and in attendance, the team leader should call 1800 000 CFU (1800 000 238) to notify that your unit is ready to activate. This notifies the NSW Fire Brigades that your CFU members are ready to protect their properties from spot fires and ember attack, until the fire services arrive. It is important that each Member wears their full uniform or appropriate clothing when activating and participating in property protection. The full uniform kit contains jumpsuit or jacket and pants, safety helmet, gloves, safety goggles, safety boots and a particle mask. If any of your uniform items are missing or damaged please complete the “Equipment replacement request” form located on the CFU portal and return it to the Bushland Urban Interface Section for a replacement. If your CFU trailer or cabinet has been issued with a magnetic MHP or FHP number tag, you will need to place this magnetic tag on the outside of your unit when you have activate
