What is IntraLase Custom LASIK?
IntraLase initiated LASIK is an advanced technology designed to create a corneal flap. Traditional LASIK utilizes a metal blade to create the flap. With the IntraLase laser, the surgeon can precisely control the first step of Custom LASIK. The surgeon can program this laser to meet the individual patient’s needs. This precision allows surgeons to treat some patients once not considered to be LASIK candidates. Am I a LASIK candidate? There are two steps in the LASIK procedure. First, the surgeon creates a micro-thin corneal flap, which is then lifted to expose the inner cornea for the second step, vision treatment by an excimer laser.
