From the time the leaves begin to fall until spring arives is the time to get that crock pot out and ready for some comfort food recipes like homemade chile.
Chili will warm the heart and soul. Try adding your favorite spices to make your chili one that will stand out in the crowd. Start with your slow cooker, or crock pot, and let those flavors simmer all day. When dinner time comes, all you have to do is sit down and enjoy. Plus, it will send out the aroma through the house inviting others to come join in. One hint is: by using a slow cooker bag your clean up will be much easier.

Serves: 6-8
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 large can kidney beans
1 small can of spiced chili beans
METHOD
1. Brown beef, onions, and peppers in a large skillet.
2. Stir in all spices, and sugar.
3. Pour meat mixture into slow cooker.
4. Add tomatoes, and beans.
5. Stir, and cover.
6. Set cooker on medium to high for 6-8 hours.
