What is e-therapy?
E-therapy is internet-facilitated communication led by the client and guided by the therapist. Utilizing a computer and services such as e-mail, chat, or video conference, communication may take place in either real-time or lag-time. This communication is designed to help the client develop insight into their feelings, experience personal growth, and experience changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The difference between traditional therapy and e-therapy is the method of communication, not the outcome of the communication.
