What is Equol?

0

• Equol is a metabolite of daidzein. It is naturally produced in the intestinal tract of some, but not all, people following ingestion of soy-based products. Once produced in the intestine, Equol is absorbed across the intestinal wall and passes into the body through the blood stream. In recent years there have been indications that Equol is one of the active compounds responsible for some of the physiological activity of soy isoflavones.
