What is a CT/CAT scan?
A CT or CAT scan is an abbreviation for a Computed Tomography Scan which is a computer-enhanced x-ray procedure. A CT Scan generates cross-sectional images of the body. The images are much more detailed than basic x-ray films and assist doctors in diagnosing diseases or abnormalities in tissue and bone. A CT/CAT scan procedure is typically very brief (5-15 minutes) and noninvasive.
