What is bX?
Article recommendations are provided by bX Recommender, a hosted service of Ex Libris Group. Recommendations are generated based on anonymized usage data collected from over 130 institutions worldwide, using a growing database of over 22 million articles. The service makes connections between articles as searchers discover and access them, so it is continually being refined and improved as more people use it and contribute their data to the system. If you would like to learn more about the underlying theory around bX Recommender, please see the Bollen & Van de Sompel paper. At this time, the University of Minnesota Libraries is not contributing usage data to this hosted service and is relying on the data produced by users at other institutions. However, contributing our own anonymized data would enhance the relevancy of the recommendations provided by the service and is something that the Libraries is considering. We would like your feedback on the decision to offer our data to improve
