What information is held on MEDeCARD?
In an emergency, would you be able to remember the exact names & dosages of each medication that you take? The MEDeCARD system allows you to store as much or as little information as you like. As well as basic information about you – name , address, Next of Kin etc., the system can store details of: • Each medical condition or event, including each visit to the doctor or specialist • Past and current medications – if you have experienced problems with a particular medication you can record the reasons why you stopped taking it. This information is invaluable to doctors who may treat you in the future. • Tests carried out and their results • Immunisations • Dental treatment • Eye tests and prescriptions In addition you can set up reminders, such as future appointments, boosters etc. which will be automatically e-mailed to you at the appropriate time.
