How is creativity assessed?
First lets talk about what creativity is. Creativity is difficult to define and definitively difficult to assess. Some creativity researchers have called creativity a special-intelligence. Others talk more about a certain cluster of personality characteristics that seem related to creativity. Still others say a person is creative if he behaves creatively and engages in creative activities. Some experts emphasize the unique and unexpected qualities of the products that creative people produce. We base our assessments on the pioneering work of the late Dr. E. Paul Torrance, the worlds foremost researcher on creativity. There are many kinds of creativity. The assessment of creativity is in a tentative stage. Creativity as a concept itself is controversial and very resistant to definition and measurement.
