What are some of Baylors traditions?
As the longest continually-existing university in Texas, Baylor has many long-standing traditions. During football season, freshmen have the opportunity to be a part of the Baylor Line. The Baylor Line wears jerseys with their graduation year on the back as well as a nickname, and then they run around the football field before every game, making a tunnel for the players to run through. The Baylor Line gets the best seats in the house – right behind the opposing team! In the spring, we have Diadeloso, or Day of the Bear. This is a Thursday in April where classes are canceled, and students and faculty spend the day outside together. There is a picnic on the grounds, numerous tournaments going on throughout the day (the most popular being the tug-of-war competition), and entertainment by different student and outside groups. It is a great day to spend with your classmates and professors before the end of the school year! Read about all of our traditions. 9. Tell me about Baylor’s mascots.
