Does whitening gel actually work?
The simple answer is yes, but only to some degree. What you’re going to find with this type of gel is that it will strip off the stains somewhat, but you’re not going to get that dazzling white look as though you never had any stains on your teeth in the first place. The only way to do that would be to actually have porcelain veneers installed over the teeth, as a new insert instead of your actual teeth. The only way to ever get them fully white once more, is to basically install new teeth, which is not always possible or plausible for everyone.
