What is the Boys Unit?

The boys of our staff volunteers participate in the camp schedule just like the Girl Scout campers. For instance, we select special craft projects for the boys. The personality of the unit changes slightly each year and that is dependent on the ages of the boys who attend. We make our boys’ unit fun, educational and as exciting as our Girl Scout units.

The boys of our full-time adult staff volunteers participate in many of same activities as the girls but tailored to their interests. For instance, we select special craft projects for the boys. They may go hiking, fishing, have water battles in the field or cook their lunch over a fire. The personality of the unit and their activities changes slightly each year and that is dependent on the ages of the boys who attend. Our youngest boys are usually going into first grade (if boys are younger, they do better in our co-ed Pixie Unit). Our oldest boys have been as old as 12. We do know that the boys tend to beg their moms to return as volunteers to camp next year — so we know they have fun coming to our Girl Scout Camp!
