Why question Jewish loyalty?

The letter writer dredges up the old “red herring” question: How can Americans have loyalty both to the United States and to their country of heritage or origin? He addresses it, however, to only one group, Jews. In other times the same question was posed to all immigrant groups, as it is often today to Hispanic immigrants, especially those from Mexico. So why single out the Jews, who have had a continuous presence in the United States since its creation, have fought in all of its wars, including the Revolution, and contributed to American society in so many ways? And what differences could exist between the United States and its sister democracy, Israel, except one in which those of good faith can disagree, including Americans with each other? Both countries want to live in peace, neither has territorial ambitions, and both share a pluralistic society with personal liberties guaranteed. Posing this question says more about the letter writ
