Is there a difference between perfectionism and OCPD?

Being a perfectionist is more of a personality trait whereas OCPD means there is actually something not functioning normally within the brain. You can describe people with OCPD as perfectionists, but you can’t always say perfectionists have OCPD. Perfectionism is one of the symptoms of OCPD (among other things). Also, don’t spend money buying a book that will tell you things you can find online for free. The thing is, not all techniques will work for everyone. My friend is still seeing a psychiatrist after a year for his OCD whereas I have almost completely cured my OCD using just willpower. Hope that helps and good luck. EDIT: Not to sound rude or anything, but the person above me is wrong. OCD and OCPD are unrelated (although they share some symptoms). People with OCD know that their behaviour is abnormal but continue to do it anyway. People with OCPD believe their need for strict order and rules is normal.
